This was a passion project for me. I was going through some fonts for inspriation for a social media post and fell in love with this font, Gliker. Thus, Little Leaf was born. I wanted it to have a bright and fun feeling and also have some pretty cheeky language. If I was to own a coffee shop, plant store, and book swap - this is what it would look like!
Because this concept started without a formal brief, the approach was rooted in exploration and instinct. I let the type lead the direction, building the brand around the personality already present in the letterforms.
From there, I focused on creating a visual system that felt welcoming, playful, and alive. Color choices leaned bright and fresh, balanced with warmth so the brand still felt grounded and inviting. Language and tone were treated as part of the design, using humor and lightness to reflect the kind of space Little Leaf would be in the real world.
Every decision was made with experience in mind, imagining how someone would feel walking into the space, grabbing a coffee, browsing plants, or swapping books.
Once the spark of inspiration had been captured, the next step was to turn it into a cohesive visual identity. I explored color palettes that felt bright, fresh, and playful, while grounding them with earthy, approachable tones. The goal was to create a brand that felt alive and welcoming, just like the imagined space it represented.
I also developed a set of playful icons and subtle graphics that could live across social media, signage, or merchandise. Each element was designed to carry personality, humor, and a sense of discovery, reflecting the joy of a coffee shop, plant store, and book swap all in one.
Typography, color, and imagery began working together to form a consistent, recognizable language. From there, the brand could start to “breathe” and show its full potential.
LET'S WORK TOGETHER!
